How and where to refuel

All cars are issued with a full tank of gas.

The cost of fuel is the same throughout the country so there is no need to go searching for the cheapest gas prices. We recommend refueling at convenient TEXACO, SUNIX, or TOTAL stations where you have access to toilet facilities, shops and relaxation areas. You can easily find gas stations throughout the country on Google Maps.

There are 3 types of fuel. Regular gasoline - 92 octane. Premium gasoline - 95 octane and Diesel. Regular gasoline is suitable for most of our vehicles.

When you are at the gas pump, you will see the price of Regular gasoline RD$215 (price may vary). The price is in pesos per gallon (3.8 litres). So this means 3.8 litres of Regular 92 gasoline costs 215 pesos( 56 pesos per litre or 1 US dollar per liter).

Now that you have figured out the cost, it is time to fill up. You don’t need to get out of the car. The attendant will do everything. Tell him the type of fuel, the amount or Full. Be sure the meter is reset and the fuel selected is what you requested. It is best to monitor the refueling process until it is finished to avoid getting shortchanged.

After refueling, pay the required amount in cash or by card to the attendant. If you don’t want to go through the bother of refueling, select the prepaid Full Tank option on your rental form and you can return the car with any amount of fuel.
